May 14, 2011

Roughly two months ago, I started back at my old dance studio that I had been at for only two years, and they were in need of a forth person for one of their dances and Kelly, the instructor, asked me to be apart of it. I agreed and was able to participate in the recital, joyful that I was back in there with the people I had gotten real close to. Even though all of the girls didn't want their photos taken, I snapped a few. They aren't the best, but they are samples of what goes on backstage before a recital. (:

More Old Photographs?

How can you not love this photograph?! I'm obsessed with all of the little details my camera managed to catch on the dragonfly. It was on my mum's car antenna and I tried not to scare it off; it stayed still for a really long time.

This is an old photograph of my pet lizard, Micah. This was taken a month or so after we got her eight months ago. What I like best about this photograph is that you are able to see how big she is, the vibrant yellow colour her skin is and all of her 'leopard' spots.

Old Photographs.

I was going through the little chip that I have some of my photographs on, and found many that I thought were awesome and deserved to be put up. (:

This was a 'mini-photoshoot' that I had with my Uncle's Fiance's six toed female calico cat, Calli. I thought that she was so beautiful, very photogenic, and definitely unique!

Art Nouveau - Project 2

This would have to be my all time favourite styles of art. Art Nouveau. The first attempt at this was done last year in my Art 1 class, but the medium was india ink and drawn on with a stick. Yes, a stick, a twig, nothing fancy. This however, was done in acrylic paint with SILVER leaf. My overall feeling for this piece is that I like it, especially the border around the figure drawing and my drawing of Cannon. I'm not too proud of myself for not finishing the background, or adding faces to the people. Instead of avoiding doing something I am not well at doing, I should have just approached it and tried my best, it would have improved my ability to draw faces. It's obviously not done, but when I do find the proper background to add, I think I will add that in in the future.

Precisionism - Project 1

This was the first project done in Art 3 2-D and my first shot at precisionism. The goal was to abstract the image by zooming in closely on an object, and I honestly believe that I was able to accomplish this (this is a part of a computer, believe it or not!), although I did lower the image to a slight 2D effect instead of 3D and coming off of the page, which, turned out better than I thought. Overall, I think this piece turned out really well, despite the long process of making sure everything was straight and 'perfect'. I honestly think I enjoyed doing this style of art and will create another piece in this style.

last photographs

these were the last few photographs that i took up at my grandparents house a few days before thanksgiving. only a few days after these photographs were taken, my grandmother, viewed above, died. it was the last picture i have of her. the other pictures are of my grandfather's new puppy, ann, his other dog, brandy, and the two little girls are my second-cousins, starla (in the purple) and aaliyah (in the pink).
